UCLA Basketball has landed its first commit of the Mick Cronin era, and it’s a big one: The nation’s #1 point guard Daishen Nix (6’5, 205 lbs) committed to UCLA on Tuesday. Nix selected the Bruins over Kentucky and Kansas, among many other suitors.
Nix is, first and foremost, an outstanding passer, possessing court vision and touch with his passes that is second to none in the high school ranks. He has a feel for the game and ability to see passing lanes that is rare, and coveted, especially in an era where ball-dominant guards reign supreme.
