The 2015 Bruins won a school-record 22 conference games and finished 42-14 in the regular season, earning the top overall seed in the NCAA Tournament…before failing to advance from the regional round. It was a that team rode its phenomenal pitching staff and only faltered when the bats went silent. That’s what happened in the post season as well, when the Bruins dropped two games to Maryland, 4-1 and 2-1.
Now, the 2016 team must replace the all-everything star right-hander, Friday starter James Kaprielian; the left-handed Saturday starter, Grant Watson; midweek starter Cody Poteet; and all-world closer and NCAA single-season save leader, David Berg.
