The UCLA men’s basketball team received a No. 3 seed in the South region in the NCAA tournament as the selection committee revealed the 68-team bracket Sunday.
The Bruins (29-4) will play 14th-seeded Kent State (22-13) in Sacramento on Friday in the first round.
It is Kent State’s first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2008.
North Carolina (27-7) is the No. 1 seed in the South region after winning the regular season ACC title and advancing to the conference tournament final, where the Tar Heels lost to Duke. The Bruins also have a possible rematch with second-seeded Kentucky in the Sweet 16 after UCLA notched a regular-season road win over the Wildcats.
