LOS ANGELES – Twenty minutes into the start of UCLA practice on Thursday, a familiar face re-emerged.
It was offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone, who had been hospitalized earlier in the week and missed the previous two workouts.
Mazzone walked onto the intramural field on campus, still wearing a hospital bracelet on his right wrist but also back in his old, gray UCLA hooded sweatshirt and black ballcap.
“It was great,” junior left tackle Conor McDermott said. “I loved seeing him out there. I was in the middle of second-team period. I turned around, I saw him and I raised my hands up, ‘Coach Mazzone!
