BURBANK – Flanked by a power point presentation on a Warner Bros. Studios stage, David Coleman, the Pac-12’s new vice president of officiating, pledged to improve the quality of the oft-criticized referees in the conference through four buzzwords: consistency, accountability, communication and transparency.

Coleman, who was hired in April, gave a 25-minute address to the media Friday, highlighting a handful of reform efforts.
