Miller: UCLA brings its high-octane offense to Orange County for Wooden Legacy tournament

LOS ANGELES – Their explosive offense has been exploding, they’ve reeled off four consecutive 15-point-plus victories and they’re winning by an average margin of nearly four touchdowns.

Now, the UCLA men’s basketball team is on the verge of welcoming the debut of 6-foot-10 freshman Ike Anigbogu, whose offensive game guard Bryce Alford summed up this way: “He tries to dunk everything.”

In a market that has the 13-2 Clippers and the youthfully cloud-kissing Lakers, the alive-again Bruins are providing as entertaining a version of basketball as anyone.

“They’re a fun group to watch, but I hope people see more than just the dunks and the threes,” Coach Steve Alford said.
