LOS ANGELES – As Mike Fafaul sat in UCLA’s locker room these past few weeks, pulling his jersey on and wondering to himself if this made-for-TV rise from longshot, seventh-string walk-on to starting quarterback was actually just a dream he would soon wake up from, his mind wandered back to his room at Fork Union Military Academy and a stack of letters he once wrote.
Fafaul came to Fork Union, a rural Virginia prep school known for its military discipline and football pedigree, in the fall of 2011 with hopes of raising his recruiting profile.
