Taxed enough
The passing of the gas tax is the standard state government response to a problem that lawmakers created, and now they want taxpayers to foot the bill. There has been a lot written about the diversion of gas tax money to other projects, and, while that is true, I don’t think that is the main problem.
The cost per mile to maintain the roads is the real problem.
