UCLA Bruins redshirt juniors Jerry Neuheisel and Kene Orijoke will not return to the football team in 2016, per a report from Chris Foster of The LA Times.
Neuheisel, a quarterback and the son of former Bruins quarterback and head coach Rick Neuheisel, has spent practically all of his collegiate career as a backup and is expected to remain with the program as a graduate assistant.
“I don’t expect he will go very far,” UCLA head coach Jim Mora said, indicating Neuheisel would stay with the program. If that is the case, Neuheisel would follow in his father’s footsteps, as Rick returned to UCLA as a graduate assistant after his playing career was over.
