PROVO, Utah – BYU scored with 37 seconds left to test UCLA, but an onside kick that bounced out of bounds ultimately sealed UCLA’s 17-14 victory over the Cougars in LaVell Edwards Stadium on Saturday night.
The UCLA defense carried the Bruins (2-1), allowing just 23 rushing yards and 273 total. Linebacker Jayon Brown had nine total tackles, seven solo, one sack, one back breakup and one forced fumble.
After he threw three first-half interceptions against BYU as a freshman last year, quarterback Josh Rosen buoyed the short-handed offense with the eighth 300-yard passing game of this career.
