Freshman receiver Cordell Broadus, son of Snoop Dogg, quits UCLA football team

Cordell Broadus, an incoming freshman receiver and a former four-star prospect, has quit the UCLA football team, the school confirmed.

It was first reported Friday morning by Bruin Report Online.

Broadus, who is the son of the rapper Snoop Dogg, had yet to report for the Bruins' training camp, which began Monday at Cal State San Bernardino. Coach Jim Mora said earlier this week that Broadus was dealing with some "personal issues."

"Cordell informed me yesterday that he has decided to pursue other passions in his life - in particular his love of film through his company Film School Productions," Mora said in a statement Friday.
