LOS ANGELES – The ball sailed from the right arm of quarterback Josh Rosen and dropped into the hands of walk-on receiver Daniel Fields in the end zone.
It began as a routine throw during 11-on-11 team drills Wednesday morning, as UCLA neared the end of its ninth spring workout. But Rosen couldn’t leave without providing an exclamation point, without completing one more pass that offered spectators a glimpse of why he had arrived on campus with all the billing.
Rosen took the snap from around the 10-yard line, rolled out of the pocket to his right and zipped a dart to Fields, hitting him across the numbers.
