Yesterday, Sports Illustrated reported that two former NBA Players will be speaking at the Democratic National Convention, former UCLA basketball player Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and the first openly gay player, Jason Collins.
The announcement was made on the heels of the Republican National Convention taking place in Cleveland, Ohio, which wraps up today. The Republican Party had recently nominated Donald Trump as their nominee for the President of the United States.
Starting on July 25 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the Democratic Party will hold their convention which is expected to nominate former first lady and Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.
