Former Bruin Lucien returns to Rose Bowl as Arizona State starting receiver

LOS ANGELES – Seventh-ranked UCLA will greet a familiar face when it plays host to Arizona State on Saturday at the Rose Bowl.

Devin Lucien, the Bruins’ third-leading receiver in 2014, transferred to Arizona State last April. Because Lucien graduated from UCLA with one year of eligibility left, he was able play for ASU immediately this season without sitting out a year, as usually required by NCAA transfer rules.

His return to Southern California, though, isn’t expected to turn into an especially warm-and-fuzzy homecoming.

“It’s football. It’s a game,” UCLA senior receiver Jordan Payton said. “I’m not there for the friendships.
