Final: Wake Forest uses free throws to edge UCLA, 80-77

LAHAINA, Hawaii – Devin Thomas had 21 points and nine rebounds, and Wake Forest, despite not making a field goal over the final 5:40, beat UCLA, 80-77, Wednesday night in the third-place game of the Maui Invitational.

The Demon Deacons (4-2) had a huge advantage at the free-throw line, going 30 for 42 compared to UCLA’s 8 for 14.

Thomas was 9 for 11 from the line, and Cornelius Hudson, who had 16 points and eight rebounds, was 11 for 16 on free throws.

Tony Parker had 18 points and 15 rebounds for the Bruins (3-3), while Isaac Hamilton added 18 points.
