SALT LAKE CITY -
With its Pac-12 South title hopes at stake, UCLA survived.
The Bruins defeated No. 18 Utah on Saturday afternoon, 17-9, setting up a showdown with crosstown rival USC for the right to represent the division in the conference championship game.
Playing in front of a rabid crowd of 46,230 at Rice-Eccles Stadium, it also marked their 14th win in their last 15 games played away from the Rose Bowl.
The Bruins (8-3, 5-3 in the Pac-12) held on in the final minutes when junior linebacker Jayon Brown recovered a fumble by Utah quarterback Travis Wilson at their 43-yard line.
