There were all sorts of reasons why Colorado should have had a comfortable lead over UCLA at the half Saturday. The Buffs outgained the Bruins 278 yards to 197. Sefo Liufau had 172 yards passing and outplayed UCLA’s sensational freshman quarterback Josh Rosen, who threw for 84. CU out-rushed UCLA 106-103 despite an 82-yard touchdown run by UCLA’s Paul Perkins.

There were obvious reasons why they didn’t have the lead, too. Start with three trips inside the UCLA 10 in the second quarter that yielded two field goals and a pick-six interception for UCLA.
