UCLA pitcher Ally Carda struggled but held on for a complete-game victory 7-4 over Missouri in the NCAA super regional opener on Saturday at UCLA.
The Bruins (49-10) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Carda singled home Delany Spaulding who had reached on a single.
But the Tigers (42-15) bounced back with a four-run third inning, powered by Sami Fagan’s three-run homer to right center.
Stephany La Rosa’s RBI single and Maddy StJelenicki’s two-run double tied it in the bottom of the third. Mysha Sataraka homered to left to start the bottom fourth and the Bruins took the lead for good 5-4.
