Kort Petersen and Christoph Bono combined for eight hits and five RBI to lead the UCLA baseball team to a 15-8 rout of UC Irvine in a nonconference game at Jackie Robinson Stadium on Tuesday night.
The third-ranked Bruins bolted to a 6-0 lead after two innings only to watch the Anteaters come back with seven runs in the third inning to take the lead.
UCLA then tied it in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Luke Persico. The Bruins took the lead for good in the next inning on Pat Valaika’s RBI single.
Cameron Bishop had a three-run home run in the third and Kris Paulino and Keston Hiura each had two RBI to lead the UCI offense.
