Undefeated Clemson was the No. 1 selection for the College Football Playoff and will face Oklahoma in one semifinal.
Alabama will take on Michigan State in the other semifinal.
The Pac-12 was the only Power 5 conference shut out of the playoff, meaning Pac-12 champion Stanford is in line to play in the Rose Bowl. But the Big Ten representative in the game is not as clear.
Clemson and Oklahoma will meet Dec. 31 in the Orange Bowl; Alabama and Michigan State will play that day in the Cotton Bowl.
