SEATTLE – Monique Billings scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds and former Mater Dei standout Nirra Fields added 17 points, as 12th-ranked UCLA raced past Arizona for a 72-51 win in a Pac-12 Tournament quarterfinal Friday at KeyArena.
Third-seeded UCLA (23-7) used a big first half to take a 21-point halftime lead and cruised into the semifinals. The Bruins will face 10th-seeded Cal on Saturday after the Golden Bears upset 10th-ranked and second-seeded Arizona State. The Bruins crushed Arizona, 80-53, a week ago at Pauley Pavilion and followed that with another dominating performance to reach the Pac-12 semifinals for the first time since 2013, when they lost to Stanford in the title game.
