Backyard fun returns for UCLA's Isaac Hamilton

LOS ANGELES – The backboard Greg Hamilton erected on top of the beige, two-car garage behind his family’s Leimert Park home saw quite the roster of players pass through.

Of Hamilton’s five sons, four ended up playing college basketball.

There was Gary Hamilton, a 6-foot-10 forward at Miami about a decade ago, and Jordan Hamilton, an athletic swingman who was an All-American at Texas before a four-year career with the Denver Nuggets.

The latest two included Isaac Hamilton, a skilled 6-4 guard at UCLA, and the youngest, Daniel Hamilton, a versatile 6-7 sophomore for UConn.

Others visited their backyard like the left-handed point guard Marcus Williams, who grew up nearby at the same time as Gary and played in the NBA for four seasons.
