At halfway point, UCLA football has no decision on quarterback

SAN BERNARDINO – UCLA reached the midway point of training camp Saturday night without settling its much talked about quarterback competition.

For the first week of camp at Cal State San Bernardino, the Bruins’ coaching staff divided the reps behind center among the three quarterbacks they says are in contention to be named the starter: freshman early enrollee Josh Rosen, along with fourth-year juniors Jerry Neuheisel and Mike Fafaul.

No starter or pecking order emerged. And none of the quarterbacks has been eliminated.

“Right now, we still need to see more from all three of them,” quarterbacks coach Taylor Mazzone said.
