SAN BERNARDINO – It was 88 degrees in Westwood on Saturday for UCLA’s final on-campus football practice before heading to the wilds of the Inland Empire.
When the Bruins finished their morning workout here at around 10:45 Monday, it was already 93 degrees. The mercury reached 102, according to weather.com – not quite the 105 predicted, but still a scorcher –and was 99 when players arrived at the field for the 5:45 practice.
In other words, the ancient football tradition of Hell Week is alive and well at Camp Coyote V.
“The weather’s perfect,” UCLA coach Jim Mora said.
