SANTA ANA – A man was wounded Wednesday in what Santa Ana police are describing as an apparent gang-related shooting.
The incident occurred around 3:45 p.m. in an alley in the 2100 block of West Myrtle Street, said Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.
Two men told police they and a 19-year-old male were smoking marijuana in the alley when another male approached them and fired several rounds from a gun, Bertagna said. The 19-year-old was shot in the upper torso.
The two males drove the teenager to South Coast Global Medical Center, where he was transferred by ambulance to Orange County Global Medical Center.
