At 12-0, the UCLA Bruins are the last undefeated team in college water polo this season. They are also the new number 1 team in this week’s college water polo.
That’s because in addition to beating the defending national champion UC Berkeley Golden Bears last weekend, they also defeated Southern Cal, 13-11, on Sunday. That game was a seesaw battle that saw the Trojans take the early lead on a power play goal by Blake Edwards. Nicolas Saveljic tied the game at 1-1 less than a minute later. Alex Roelse’s goal with 4:39 to go in the first gave UCLA the 2-1 edge.
