Jim Mora and the UCLA Bruins are still putting the finishing touches on their 2015 recruiting class, but they could be adding an unexpected name to the class when National Signing Day rolls around on Wednesday.
4-Star outside linebacker Kyahva Tezino is a Los Angeles native who was committed to Washington State until Monday, when he de-committed from the Cougars and re-opened his list of prospective schools to four contenders.
According to Tezino's high school coach (via 247 Sports), he'll be choosing between Cal, UCLA, Kansas, or San Diego State.
The Bruins currently don't have any outside linebackers in their 2015 recruiting class, and their two high-profile OLB targets aren't considered likely to end up at UCLA. Porter Gustin and John Houston have been UCLA's primary focus over the past few months, but both 4-Star recruits have been heavily tipped to end up at USC. At this stage, either choosing the Bruins would be a major surprise.
Tezino is rated slightly below both Houston and Gustin, but it's important to remember that these recruiting rankings are an inexact science - minor differences are rarely significant, and it's totally possible that a 3-star LB (like former 3-Star Eric Kendricks, for example) becomes a better college player than his more highly-rated competition.
