When Corey Thornton and Davonte Brown arrived at UCF as true freshmen, the young cornerbacks from South Florida found themselves under the guidance of veterans, such as Richie Grant and Aaron Robinson.
It was a blessing in disguise for the pair quickly thrust into action. The Knights had to lean on their younger players while dealing with roster management impacted by the ongoing COVID pandemic.
“It wasn’t as bad as it seemed because I had older guys like Aaron Robinson and Richie Grant and Bam Moore,” said Thornton, who started all 10 games last season. “I was behind those guys, so they were showing me the way.
