TAMPA — USF (10-2, 7-1) took home the first War on I-4 football trophy after earning a 48-31 win over rival UCF (6-6, 4-4) Saturday.
However, the two schools are still playing for all-sports trophy.
The football win gives the Bulls six more points in the War on I-4 all-sports race and ties the score at 15, with 30 more points still to be awarded from now until May 14.
Points are awarded based on games played in various sports between UCF and USF along with the higher finish in American Athletic Conference championship events.
