Jamiyus Pittman walked out of Wednesday's practice with his black UCF football playbook tucked under his right arm.
These days, he rarely goes anywhere without it, taking his study guide to breakfast, lunch and dinner.
"It's with me all the time, everyday," said Pittman, a sophomore defensive tackle. "I can't go anywhere without it."
Pittman and his teammates need to bring an increased level of focus while studying Stanford, the Knights' opponent Saturday night. The Cardinal's unexpected 16-6 loss to Northwestern last week means they'll be ready to pounce on their next opponent. With UCF having suffered its own embarrassment — a 15-14 loss to FIU last week — players and coaches are eager to make a statement themselves.
