UCF trustee Bob Garvy pledged to give $1 million to the school athletics department to build a nutritional center for student athletes, the school announced.
The current UCF Football Recruiting Lounge in the football stadium will be renovated and renamed the Garvy Center for Student-Athlete Nutrition, according to the University of Central Florida.
The new nutritional center is expected to open in spring 2018.
“It is so important that these kids get the proper nutrition,” said Garvy, who is the trustee board's vice chair, in a statement. “The nutrition needs vary tremendously among all the different student-athletes.
