“At the beginning of the season, I prided myself on becoming the guy,” Goode said. “Last year, my freshman year, it took a lot to get acclimated to the college level. It hit me — I just want to be the guy for my teammates. I want somebody to look at me and say, ‘Alright, we can rely on him,’ and not just hovering over me. I just wanted to be that guy this year.”
In order to become that guy, Goode gained 10 pounds in the offseason to be a more physical presence on the defensive line for the Knights.
