UCF has paused the start of fall football camp after a player-led movement began over concerns ranging from safety protocols, scholarship safety and receiving hazard pay for playing this upcoming season according to a Sports Illustrated report.
SI reported the demands were outlined in a document titled a Proposal for Change and were shared with at least four other schools in the American Athletic Conference.
The Knights were set to kick off camp Thursday, but they didn’t take the field. When asked about media access that typically coincides with the start of practice, a UCF spokesman said the coaching staff was still working through a practice schedule.
