The Citronaut, UCF’s first mascot 50 years ago, is getting a special tribute that may be a treat for Knights football fans.
Starting Saturday at UCF’s home-opener, the school is celebrating the Citronaut by naming a new drink in its honor.

“Every stadium has a signature concession item,” explained Jimmy Skiles, UCF’s associate athletic director for brand advancement.
The school is hoping the Citronaut drink — a concoction of Fanta orange soda with a vanilla ice cream bar — will become the Knights’ signature treat at Spectrum Stadium.
