The roar of UCF fans cheering at Spectrum Stadium is a sure sign to people who live nearby that something good has happened on the football field. There’s been a lot to cheer the past two seasons as the Knights have rolled to win after win.
If there’s a touchdown or big play, Sylvia Wilson, 70, can hear in the distance the UCF band’s rousing reaction from her home about a mile from the 45,000-seat arena.
“I’m a sports person so I enjoy it. I’m happy they’re 11-0,” said Wilson, adding that she leaves early to run errands on game days to avoid the mass influx of cars near the campus.
