If you need to find a little spark inside of UCF's gloomy football offices these days, track down Cedric Thompson and ask him about the infamous whistle in the final moments of the Knights' game against Tulsa in 2012.
That was the last time the Knights played the Golden Hurricane in Oklahoma, where they lost a Conference USA championship in part due to a controversial play. UCF players and coaches swear an official blew his whistle before Tulsa's Trey Watts ran back a 54-yard punt to tie the game in the final five minutes. UCF ultimately dropped the game 33-27 in overtime.
