As UCF prepares for its second scrimmage of the fall camp Wednesday, the defense continues to show growth under first-year defensive coordinator Travis Williams. And with any sort of change, there comes a unique set of challenges.
“Whenever you’re doing something new is always kind of hard to grasp in the beginning,” said senior linebacker Eriq Gilyard. “But it takes practice and we’ve been working on it all summer and fall camp so it’s getting a lot more — everybody’s kind of understanding.”
Gilyard is one of a handful of senior starters back on an otherwise young defense.
