There are your typical emotions associated with the start of a college football season: anticipation, excitement and even a spot of nerves. But if 2020 has shown us anything, nothing is typical anymore.
As UCF prepares to open the season against Georgia Tech on Saturday in Atlanta, the Knights are searching for a sense of normalcy amid the coronavirus pandemic. After months of quarantining, physical distancing, adapting to wearing masks as much possible and multiple testing procedures, this team wants to play football.
“You look at all the adversity and uncertainty every team across America has faced, that we’ve faced here as well, and it was awesome to see them get back on the field and start their Monday routine,” UCF coach Josh Heupel said Monday.
