Growing up near downtown Orlando, Matt Williams used to bounce his basketball into the ground so often that he made his own dirt court from grass.
He wanted a concrete surface like the old one at his apartment complex. But when hard times forced his family to move into his grandmother's house temporarily, he had to make the best of what was available.
"He stayed out there and practiced with that ball and one day I happened to look out in that backyard and the whole backyard was just dirt where he was out there with that basketball bouncing it," Matt Williams Sr.
