School might not start until Monday, but many of UCF football's rookies have already learned a hard lesson about gridiron life during the past three weeks in preseason camp.
After spending the past 16 days sprinting in heavy pads in the thick Florida heat and later sitting in cool meeting rooms studying the intricacies of the Knights' playbook, UCF coach George O'Leary said his freshmen are hitting a wall. The last day of grueling camp is Sunday.
"Some of these freshmen, especially at the skill positions, I think have hit the wall a little bit. Again, they gotta get their legs back under them.
