Morgan Mitchell said he was surprised when UCF coaches relayed to him that they wanted to offer the 2019 Oviedo quarterback a scholarship. He still has three more seasons of high school football remaining.
"Coach Frost even said he couldn't believe he was offering somebody who wasn't old enough to drive yet," Mitchell laughed about his conversation on campus Wednesday with new UCF head coach Scott Frost, who told the Oviedo rising sophomore that UCF was fully committed to recruiting him in the future.
It's the first college football scholarship offer for 6-foot-6, 190-pound Mitchell, who also plays basketball for Oviedo, but he said his first love is football.
