That reverberating "Pfffttttt" you heard emanating from downtown Orlando Saturday night was the air being let out of Coach Scott Frost's first season at UCF.
In the four tedious hours it took UCF to get blown out 31-13 by Arkansas State in the AutoNation Cure Bowl, Frost's inaugural season with the Knights was downgraded from unbelievably good to incredibly disheartening.
As much progress as the Knights made in Year 1 of the Frost Era, there's no denying it ended in ultra-disappointing fashion. UCF lost its final three games by two touchdowns or more, got beaten handily by their rival (USF) in the regular season finale and then got drilled in a bowl game in their hometown to a team from the Sun Belt Conference.
