This has been anything but a typical bowl week experience for UCF, which will play No. 16 BYU in the Roofclaim.com Boca Raton Bowl Tuesday.
Thanks to COVID-19 safety measures, schools are forced to treat bowls like a typical game week, with teams traveling to venues the day before a contest instead of spending a week enjoying a variety of local activities in bowl cities.
“This week is unique because it’s really more like a game week than a true bowl prep,” said UCF coach Josh Heupel, whose team closed the regular season Nov. 27 against USF.
