New UCF coach Gus Malzahn has added a pair of coaches to the Knights’ staff and reportedly is close to hiring two more.
Tim Harris Jr. was named co-offensive coordinator and running backs coach, while Brian Blackmon was named the special-teams coordinator and tight ends coach Sunday.
Harris spent the past six seasons at Florida International where he was first running backs coach before being promoted to offensive coordinator. Before that, he spent time at Booker T. Washington (Fla.) High first as an assistant coach and then head coach in 2014.
Blackmon, who previously worked under Malzahn as an offensive analyst at Auburn in 2017, spent the past three seasons at Troy, where he coached running backs and tight ends before moving into the role of special-teams coordinator.
