The Johnny Dawkins era of the UCF basketball program officially began Wednesday afternoon as players and coaches met at CFE Arena to practice and prepare for the start of the 2016-2017 campaign.
After a 12-18 record during the 2015 season, going 6-12 in conference play and exiting the AAC postseason tournament in the first round, the team parted ways with coach Donnie Jones.
Now all eyes are on Dawkins, junior guard A.J. Davis, sophomore center Tacko Fall, redshirt senior guard Matt Williams and redshirt sophomore guard B.J. Taylor.
UCF is counting on Fall continuing to develop and serving as a strong big man down low for the Knights.
