The UCF men’s basketball team extended its strong start to the season, holding on for a 75-70 win over Cincinnati Tuesday afternoon at Addition Financial Arena.
The Knights (3-1, 1-0 American Athletic Conference) showed no signs of a letdown after scoring arguably the biggest win in program history at No. 15 Florida State Saturday.
UCF senior Brandon Mahan hit three key 3-pointers to spark the Knights’ run early in the second half that pushed them ahead of the Bearcats (2-5, 0-2 AAC).
The Knights flirted with disappointment late in the contest, letting a 13-point lead dwindle to one, but Mahan and the Knights pulled together to close out the win in the final minute.
