UCF linebacker Demeitre Brim called the Knights' 26-25 homecoming defeat against Temple the worst loss he'd experienced during his career as a football player. New UCF coach Scott Frost and rookie quarterback McKenzie Milton called it "sickening."
After leading the game for more than 59 minutes, the Knights surrendered a potentially season-altering victory on the final drive. Temple quarterback Phillip Walker overwhelmed an already fatigued UCF defense, going perfect 4-of-4 passing for 70 yards and an 8-yard touchdown throw to Keith Kirkwood.
"It hurts real bad," Brim said. "Probably one of the toughest losses I've ever experienced playing football.
