Different night, same storyline during the UCF basketball team's series against Memphis.
The Knights were hoping to avoid back-to-back losses as they approached the meat of their American Athletic Conference schedule. Apparently, Memphis' Shaq Goodwin had different plans.
The senior forward scored a career-high 35 points — breaking his personal record by halftime by recording 24 points — on the way to burying UCF 97-86 Tuesday night at CFE Arena.
Goodwin flew around the rim hammering dunks and putbacks, greedily snatching up nine rebounds. The Knights dug deep into their rotation, even utilizing senior forward Staphon Blair, who previously logged just 11 minutes during conference games, headed into the contest, to help contain Goodwin.
