Taking what he called a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," Sanford Seminole defensive end/linebacker DeMarco "D.J." Artis switched his commitment status Tuesday night, opting to accept a scholarship offer from Florida State, thus pulling back his pledge from UCF.
"It's exciting. Not many people get to be a part of the Seminoles and that 2017 class sounds serious," Artis said, "and the fact that they only have less than 200 scholarships out right now, and for me to be one of those guys, that means a lot to me."
FSU offered Artis a week ago and his thoughts have been swallowed up by making a choice between staying home and playing with close friends at UCF, or jumping at the chance to play for a national powerhouse.
