Orlando Jones High defensive end Raymond Cutts committed to UCF on Tuesday according to his grandfather Robert Stafford, ending speculation that the 6-foot-4, 265-pounder would choose to stay home to play college football.
Cutts could not be reached late Tuesday for comment.
A leader on one of the top defenses in Central Florida, Cutts picked the Knights over 19 other scholarship offers, including Clemson, Louisville, Auburn and Baylor.
Cutts, the No. 10-ranked player in the Sentinel’s 2019 Central Florida Super60, posted to his Facebook account a photo portraying him in a UCF uniform during his visit to the UCF campus with the words “Orlando’s Hometown Hero,” which is a selling point Knights coaches have been trying to use in recruiting local players.
